Muniong Ski Club has a lodge located in Smiggin Holes within the Perisher Blue ski resort. The club is to encourage, develop and promote snow sports, skiing, ski touring and other athletic sports and games.
The club encourages downhill and cross country skiing as well as snow boarding, and has programs to support up-and-coming skiers. Muniong's race team competes in the Smiggin's Bowl and Shield events.
The club's membership extends Australia-wide and includes a number of members living overseas. The club is family orientated and has an extended network of families and friends.
Muniong is one of the founding clubs in Smiggin Holes and the building of the lodge was a tribute to the passion, skills and tenacity of a small group of original members.
Today, the club consists of people of all ages and who enjoy all types of snow sports.
Dear Members,
With the AGM approaching at the end of March, it is timely that I let you know that Muniong will be looking for some new members to join the Board.
Muniong Ski Club Co-Op. Ltd. cannot function without the voluntary support of the Board and our current incumbents could do with sharing some of the workload.
We will also be looking for someone to specifically take over the role of Treasurer as Kim Wilkinson is stepping down from this role. We need someone who can use MYOB and has the time to pay invoices throughout the season.
Payments have been done by electronic banking for the last couple of seasons, however, there is a cheque book if the future incumbent prefers this method. This person will also need to comply and attend to GST and PAYG requirements on a quarterly basis and ensure the Managers are paid each month.
Additionally, the paperwork surrounding the role i.e., invoices, statements, bank reconciliations, receipts, tax and insurance documents need to be compiled into a logical filing system to be supplied to the Accountant in January each year, for the annual reporting provision and audit. The Treasurer also receives and reconciles the Subscription payments due on January 1 each year.
Please step up and volunteer for this role, as without a Treasurer the club will not be able to operate effectively.
